I'm the wife of a newly-graduated librarian/public library branch manager, daughter of a high school English teacher, granddaughter of a once-upon-a-time librarian pro tem, cousin of a middle school librarian, cousin-in-law of a library assistant, and . . . I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. I spend my evenings discussing stories (books, TV, movies) and libraries and giving unwanted advice so for some reason I felt like pestering people here for a change.
I tend to read sci-fi and fantasy, especially children's and YA; I really don't care for contemporary fiction. Oh, and I have a degree in psychology, but I went pro-gimp in grad school, dropped out, and don't officially use it. I'm on Goodreads, http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1145574 and Library Thing (see website left). Library Thing is a work in progress. I made it to my children's books without ISBNs or uploaded covers and got a little frustrated. When I eventually finish that project I get to move on to my mother's books of which there are so many she ran out of shelves ages ago. They're all in boxes and no one has any idea what she has, including her. She likes contemporary fiction, and it's my belief that she has every first edition since she retired nine years ago. Also, I'm often and currently trying to type with a cat in my lap who thinks my world revolves around him. He also tries to eat all the paper on my desk when I'm distracted. |
