Think about wading through hundreds or thousands of questions, many of which will have dozens or hundreds of answers - we need a way to find the highest quality information.</p> <p>In order to vote you need 15 reputation points - you get reputation points by having your questions, answers, and comments voted up by the community. In other words, a minimum amount of good judgement need to be established before you can vote. A good rule of thumb is: if you are answering and/or are interested in the answers to a question, vote it up.
