<p>When I was in elementary school (early 1990s) I read a book about a boy and a dragon. I think it was a fairly old book then. The dragon's name was Mahagony. It is not My Father's Dragon. </p> <p>I loved this book, but every librarian I've asked about it always says "My Father's Dragon." Can anyone help with the title?</p> <p>It was a short chapter book with some pictures. All I remember about the plot was that there was also a boy and the dragon flew with him.</p>

<p>There are some wonderful annotated bibliographies on <strong>Dragons in Children's Literature</strong>, <a href="http://www.ferrum.edu/thanlon/dragons/" rel="nofollow">http://www.ferrum.edu/thanlon/dragons/</a> I did browse through them but did not find any books that featured a dragon named Mahagony. Perhaps if you took a look something might register.</p>

<p>I don't think this it but you might look at Matthew's Dragon by Cooper. She's the one who wrote the Dark is Rising sequence. </p>
